Steven Goldby -Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Goldby has served as the chairman of our Board of Directors since April 2008. He is currently serving as our interim chief executive officer and is a partner at Venrock. From 1998 until 2007, Mr. Goldby was chief executive officer of Symyx Technologies, where he is currently Executive Chairman. Prior to Symyx, he was the chief executive officer of MDL Information Systems. Before MDL, he held various management positions at Alza Corporation, including President of Alza Pharmaceuticals. He was also president of Dynapol, and is a registered patent attorney. He currently serves on the board of Intermolecular, Inc. Mr. Goldby holds an A.B. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Keith Crandell - Member of the Board of Directors
Mr. Crandell has served as a member of our board of directors since December 2007.  He is a co-founder and a Managing Director of ARCH Venture Partners. He focuses on chemical and specialty materials companies, electronics and instrumentation, optics and photonics, telecommunications, and enterprise infrastructure businesses. He previously served as Senior Manager at ARCH Development Corporation, where he was responsible for ARCH Venture Fund I activities at Argonne National Laboratory. He is a director of Digital Genomics, AlfaLight, Adesto, CelebrateExpress, and Crystal IS. Mr. Crandell also serves as a director of the Illinois Venture Capital Association and the National Venture Capital Association.  Prior to the founding of ARCH, Mr. Crandell was with the specialty chemical and polymer company, Hercules, Inc. He holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago, an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics from St. Lawrence University.

Regis McKenna - Member of the Board of Directors
Mr. McKenna has served as a member of our board of directors since April 2002. Mr. McKenna has served as a marketing consultant to technology companies since 1970. He is chairman of Regis McKenna, Inc., a private firm specializing in the development of marketing information and network-based business strategies. Mr. McKenna has served as a general partner of McKenna Ventures, L.P., an investment partnership specialized in investments in early stage companies, since November 1998. Mr. McKenna holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Duquesne University.

Stephen Oesterle, M.D. - Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Oesterle has served as a member of our board of directors since December 2005. Since 2002, Dr. Oesterle has been the senior vice president for medicine and technology at Medtronic, Inc. From 1998 to 2002, he served as Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard University Medical School and Director of Invasive Cardiology Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to that, he developed and directed interventional cardiology programs at Good Samaritan Hospital from 1986 to 1991; Georgetown University from 1991 to 1992; and Stanford University from 1992 to 1998. Dr. Oesterle holds a B.S. from Harvard College and M.D. from Yale University.

Bryan Roberts, Ph.D. - Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Roberts has served as a member of our board of directors since May 2003. He joined Venrock Associates, a venture capital firm, in October 1997 and is now a general partner. Dr. Roberts worked at the investment banking firm Kidder Peabody & Co., Inc. in corporate finance from 1989 to 1992. Dr. Roberts also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Sirna Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Roberts holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University.

Sass Somekh, Ph.D. - Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Sass Somekh is the President of Novellus Systems. Prior to joining Novellus, Dr. Somekh spent 23 years at Applied Materials, most recently as executive vice president and chairman of the company’s Global Executive Committee. Before joining Applied, he worked at Bell Laboratories and Intel Corporation. Dr. Somekh has enjoyed a distinguished career in the semiconductor capital equipment business, transitioning from engineering and technology roles into executive management positions. He played a pivotal role in the development of products that have revolutionized the manufacturing of semiconductor devices.
In 1993 Dr. Somekh was recognized as the co-inventor of the Precision 5000 CVD system, the first semiconductor manufacturing tool to be placed in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. In 1994 he was recognized by the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Institute with the SEMI Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the industry. In 2006 Sass was inducted into the Silicon Valley Hall of Fame (www.svec.org/hof), for his professional achievements and contribution to the Silicon Valley community. Dr. Somekh received his doctorate in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology, and holds more than 50 U.S. patents. Dr. Somekh is also a board member of Synopsys.

John Young - Member of the Board of Directors
Mr. Young has served as a member of our board of directors since March 2004. Mr. Young is retired. He served as president and chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard Company from 1978 to 1992 and served in other capacities at Hewlett-Packard from 1958 to 1978. Mr. Young currently serves as the chairman of the board of Ciphergen Biosystems, Inc. He also serves on the boards of directors of Affymetrix Inc., Perlegen Sciences, Inc., Fluidigm Corporation and Lucent Technologies, Inc. Mr. Young holds a B.S.E.E. from Oregon State University and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Greg Yurek, Ph.D. - Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Yurek has served as a member of our board of directors since February 2004. Since 1988, Dr. Yurek has served in various capacities at American Superconductor Corporation, an electricity solutions company that he founded in 1987, and currently serves as its chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors. From 1976 to 1988, Dr. Yurek was professor of materials science and engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Yurek holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Metallurgy from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from Ohio State University.
