Jason Hartlove- President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Hartlove is our President and CEO. Prior to joining Nanosys he was President of MagnaChip Semiconductor and was responsible for managing all business activities for the Imaging Solutions Division headquartered in Seoul , South Korea . Prior to MagnaChip, Mr. Hartlove worked at Agilent Technologies and its parent company Hewlett-Packard as a Vice President and General Manager for the Sensor Solutions Division. Working in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard Laboratories from 1996, he developed the first commercial implementations of optical position sensing used in optical mice and CMOS image sensor technologies for the company. Mr. Hartlove is the author of more than 20 patents, including the winner of the Hewlett Award in 2004 for best patent in Agilent Technologies. He has also worked in a variety of manufacturing, R&D and marketing roles in semiconductor technologies including MEMS, III -V, bipolar, CMOS and BCD process technologies. Mr. Hartlove holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in Los Angeles, California and has completed graduate work at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Andrew Filler, Esq.- Vice President of Intellectual Property

Mr. Filler is our vice president of intellectual property. Other positions Mr. Filler has held prior to joining Nanosys are, chief intellectual property counsel at Caliper Technologies, senior associate attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and director of intellectual property at Corvascular. Mr. Filler holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and a J.D. from University of San Francisco Law School.

John Hanlon- Senior Vice President of Finance

Mr.Hanlon is our Senior Vice President – Finance. Prior to joining Nanosys, John held positions as CFO and Vice President of Finance at a number of public companies including Synplicity, Accelrys, Pharmacopeia and MDL Information Systems. Mr Hanlon is a CPA and holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Cal State East Bay .

Jurgen Hofler, Ph.D . - Vice President of Operations & Engineering
Dr. Hofler is our vice president of engineering and operations.
Most recently, Dr. Hofler was vice president of operations and manufacturing at Novalux, Inc. where he led the development of high brightness red, green and blue Necsel semiconductor lasers for display applications from R&D to their transfer to CMs. Before that, he held management positions in engineering, manufacturing and operations at FormFactor, Inc, Genoa Corp., Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard.
Prior to his career in industry, Dr. Hofler spent a decade in academia doing research on nanophase materials at Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at Rutgers University .
Dr. Hofler holds a BS in Physics and Physical Chemistry, and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from the Universität des Saarlandes , Germany

J. Wallace Parce, Ph.D. - Senior Science Advisor
Dr. Parce is our Senior Science Advisor. Dr. Parce was a co-founder of and served as vice president of research at Caliper Technologies. Prior to joining Caliper, Dr. Parce spent 12 years with Molecular Devices Corporation as a co-founder, consultant, director of research and vice president of research. Dr. Parce holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Western Maryland College and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Wake Forest University.

Erica Rogers - Vice President and General Manager, Medical Devices
Ms Rogers is our Vice President and General Manager, Medical Devices.  Other positions Ms Rogers has held prior to joining Nanosys are,  President and CEO of a privately held medical device company, founder of two venture backed medical device companies and sales management, and senior management roles in the  peripheral and neurovascular divisions of Boston Scientific.  Ms Rogers has over 20 patents in the medical device field, including ophthalmology, ENT, neurosurgery, cardiology, and nanotechnology.  Ms Rogers began her career at the Upjohn company after completing a BS in zoology from San Diego State University.
