Nanosys is looking for several Chemical Manufacturing Technicians who will be responsible for supporting the group’s production of quantum dots including performing purifications and synthetic chemistry following standard operating procedures.  Most of the chemistry is done in glove boxes or air-free environments.

Nanosys is seeking a synthetic chemist with experience in nanocrystal synthesis to develop and optimize processes used in their manufacture. Based on our proprietary quantum dot technology we are developing new materials as well as improving processes for existing products.

Nanosys is looking for an experienced Senior Equipment Maintenance Technician who will under general direction, perform repairs and maintenance tasks on large scale chemical processing/manufacturing equipment as well as building HVAC and process utility systems. This position will be reporting to the Facilities and Equipment Manager. 

Nanosys is looking for a process engineer to bring up, troubleshoot, and continuously improve, new equipment and processes for its nanocrystal manufacturing facility. The candidate will provide design inputs to the Process Development Team during new process development and equipment design, and work to improve both equipment and process after release to manufacturing.

Nanosys is looking for an accomplished chemist/chemical engineer to bring up new equipment and processes for scaling up its solution-phase nanocrystal synthesis from lab to pilot scale.  The candidate should have experience transferring processes from laboratory to pilot scale.  The successful candidate will be fully conversant in chemical process scale up; including process optimization, development and transfer of processes to manufacturing, hazardous materials handling, and typical pilot process equipment.  Candidate will be of a team of scientists and is expected to transfer processes smoothly and swiftly to larger scale reactor systems.  The person should independently be able to think, analyze, design and control scale-ups to meet the volume demand for our nanomaterials.  The candidate is also expected to improve & optimize the process steps to maximize process throughput and product quality while ensuring a safe work environment.

Nanosys is looking for an experienced Process Control Engineer who will maintain and improve our Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated Human Machine Interface (HMI) that will monitor and control custom built process equipment for manufacturing Quantum Dots. Additionally, this position will ensure reliable process control, robust data capture and storage that is easy to access and use for various organizational needs.

Nanosys is seeking a versatile synthetic chemist with experience in organo-metallics to develop new compositions for the Nanosys optical materials effort. Based on our proprietary quantum dot technology we are developing new nano-crystals and composites for integration into optical devices in partnerships with leading optical component manufacturers.  Among the development goals will be novel nano-crystal synthesis optimization and integration of nano-crystals into polymer systems. 

The successful candidate will be involved in the development of next generation semiconductor nanocrystals (quantum dots) for lighting applications.  Primary responsibility will be synthesis and purification of nano-crystal precursors, as well as quantum dot synthesis and formulation of these particles into polymers.
