Prior to that he was co-founder and Vice President of Research at Molecular Devices (NASDAQ: MDCC). At both Caliper and Molecular Devices he assembled strong basic science groups to provide the fundamental inventions and support necessary to get multi-disciplinary high technology products on the market. Prior to Molecular Devices, Dr. Parce was an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry with a cross appointment in Immunology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forrest University. He has authored over 75 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is an inventor on over 100 US Patents. He has a B.A. in Chemistry from Western Maryland College, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Wake Forrest University, and did his Post Doctoral work in Physical Chemistry at Stanford University.
The Society for Biomolecular Screening was founded in 1994. Its mission is to provide a forum for education and information exchange amongst professionals within Drug Discovery and related disciplines. The Society has more than 2000 members. It offers technical publications, most notably The Journal of Biomolecular Screening. It organizes the SBS Annual Conference and Exhibition, bringing together leaders in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and agrochemical industries from around the world. It also organizes Regional Meetings, and Virtual Seminar Series. About Nanosys Nanosys, Inc. is a rapidly growing advanced technology
company, leading the burgeoning nanotechnology industry through the development
of nano-enabled systems. These systems incorporate novel and patent-protected
nanostructures that integrate functional complexity directly into each
individual nanoparticle, enabling the low-cost fabrication of revolutionary
high-value, high-performance applications in a broad range of industries
from life and physical sciences to information technology and communications
to renewable energy and defense. These nanostructures include nanowires,
nanorods, nanotetrapods, and nanodots formed from all of the industrially
important semiconductor materials. These systems exploit the fundamentally
new and unique electronic, optical, magnetic, interface, and integration
properties associated with materials on the nanometer-scale. The initial
applications include exquisitely sensitive chemical and biological sensors,
high performance large area macroelectronics, and lightweight high-efficiency
conformal photovoltaics. Nanosys, Inc. is a highly innovative company
combining the best talent and the strongest intellectual property position
in the field of nanotechnology. |
