Nanosys has assembled a business and scientific management team accomplished in growing high technology product companies, creating new technology industries and partnering with manufacturers to improve efficiency and achieve desired product qualities.
Jason Hartlove
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Hartlove is President and CEO. He has a track record of building and leading innovative companies and business units by driving emerging technologies from R&D to market application. Prior to joining Nanosys he was president of MagnaChip Semiconductor and was responsible for managing all business activities for the Imaging Solutions Division headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Prior to MagnaChip, Mr. Hartlove served as vice president and general manager for the Sensor Solutions Division of Agilent Technologies and its parent company Hewlett-Packard. Working in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard Laboratories from 1996, he developed the first commercial implementations of optical position sensing used in optical mice and CMOS image sensor technologies for the company. Mr. Hartlove is the author of more than 20 patents, including the winner of the Hewlett Award in 2004 for best patent in Agilent Technologies. He has also worked in a variety of manufacturing, R&D and marketing roles in semiconductor technologies including MEMS, III -V, bipolar, CMOS and BCD process technologies. Mr. Hartlove holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from UCLA and has completed graduate work at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
Andrew Filler, Esq.
Vice President of Intellectual Property
Mr. Filler is vice president of intellectual property. He has expertise managing intellectual property across an array of technology and medical companies. Mr. Filler previously served as chief intellectual property counsel at Caliper Technologies, senior associate attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and director of intellectual property at Corvascular. Mr. Filler holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and a J.D. from University of San Francisco Law School.

Jurgen Hofler, Ph.D
Vice President of Operations and Engineering
Dr. Hofler is vice president of engineering and operations. Most recently, Dr. Hofler was vice president of operations and manufacturing at Novalux, Inc. where he led the development of high brightness red, green and blue Necsel semiconductor lasers for display applications from R&D to their transfer to CMs. Before that, he held management positions in engineering, manufacturing and operations at FormFactor, Inc, Genoa Corp., Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard.
Prior to his career in industry, Dr. Hofler spent a decade in academia doing research on nanophase materials at Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at Rutgers University.
Dr. Hofler holds a B.S. in physics and physical chemistry, and MS and Ph.D. degrees in materials science from the Universität des Saarlandes, Germany.
John Page
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Page brings over 20 years of financial and corporate leadership experience to Nanosys as its Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Mr. Page was the CEO and founder of a cloud based computing company. Prior to that he held numerous financial management roles at leading semiconductor and electronics firms. As VP of Finance for Nvidia he led a company wide re-engineering of its ERP and financial systems and processes. At Agilent Technologies Mr. Page was the Division CFO for the Imaging Electronics Division where, as part of the management team, he led it from inception to $1B in revenue. In addition, he spent a dozen years with Hewlett-Packard in various financial management roles. This included Division CFO for the Optoelectronics Division where he was the financial lead in the creation and launch of the Lumileds joint venture in solid state lighting between Philips and HP. Before that, he directed the West Coast operations of the HP World Wide Financial Services Organization, where he led a major overhaul of many of key financial systems and processes in preparation for Y2K.
Mr. Page holds an M.B.A. in finance and corporate accounting from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester, and a B.A. in economics from the University of Rochester.
