Your future 2023 travels are about to get a lot brighter! American Airlines’ new A321XLR and Boeing 787-9 fleets will be equipped with all new 4k HDR QLED seatback displays. Say goodbye to low brightness and distracting reflections. These in-flight entertainment screens will surely make long flights more enjoyable.

The new displays, made by Thales and called Optiq, feature Quantum Dots for a brighter, richer viewing experience. According to Thales, “Optiq provides passengers with the best monitor experience in the air, with an unrivaled picture quality featuring more than 1 billion colors.”

Thales Aerospace Blog:

“American’s aircraft will be the launch customer flying with Thales’s new line of Optiq displays, the industry’s first 4K high dynamic range (HDR) seatback screens enhanced with Samsung QLED proprietary technology. Optiq provides passengers with the best monitor experience in the air, with an unrivaled picture quality featuring more than 1 billion colors.”
