Nanosys Quantum Dot Technology at Display Week 2024

There is just one week left until Display Week 2024 kicks off here in Silicon Valley. This year’s event will be held from May 12 to 17 at the San Jose Convention Center and features a ton of great Quantum Dot programming! There’s so much going on that we thought it would be helpful to pull together a list of some of our favorite events.

Of course, in addition to all the great talks, Nanosys will be on hand to exhibit the latest Quantum Dot innovations at booth #221. If you haven’t registered yet, you can get a free pass to the exhibits on us by using the following code when you sign up: RfuWLFy

Stop by any time or drop us an email if you would like to schedule a time to meet: hello@nanosys.com

Here are our favorite Quantum Dot talks and events at Display Week 2024:

Sunday, 5/12

  • 3:00 pm Sunday Short Course S-4:  Nanosys Senior Staff Scientist Dr. Ilan Jen-La Plante and Prof. Carissa Eisler of UCLA will present a 4-hour Short Course on QDs. Their talk will cover the basics of QD operation from physics to chemistry to optics, discuss the ways these materials can be optimized to perform in specific display applications, and finally address continued areas of research to unlock the displays of tomorrow.

Monday, 5/13

  • 1:00 pm DSCC Business Conference: Nanosys’ Vice President of Sales & GM Product Development, Dr. ZhongSheng Luo, will give a talk titled “Navigating Quantum Leap: Bringing Full Quantum Dot Experience to Mainstream TV” on challenges and opportunities for QDs in the TV market.

  • 2:40 pm Monday Seminar SE-11: QD Vision co-founder Dr. Seth Coe-Sullivan will reflect on the history of QDs

Tuesday, 5/14

  • 8:20 am Keynote Addresses: The Display Week exhibition will kick off with a trio of great talks from three speakers who were each made famous by Quantum Dot technology:

    • 2023 Nobel Prize laureate for QDs Dr. Moungi Bawendi of MIT’s talk will cover the origin story of the quantum dots that are now ubiquitous in display applications.

    • Vice President of Display and Optics at Meta and former Nanosys CEO Jason Hartlove will take us on a journey to look into the near future and examine the challenges and opportunities of the prolific rise of AI and the miniaturization of displays, sensors, and optical systems. presents for the display industry.

    • CEO of TCL CSOT Jun Zhao will cover TCL’s key breakthroughs in ink jet printed OLEDs and QLEDs in this keynote speech

  • 11:10 am Technical Symposium session 4: Special Nobel Prize in QD session featuring Professors Murray and Norris, co-authors of Professor Bawendi’s famous 1993 Quantum Dot paper, will give talks on QD synthesis and brightness.

  • 4:20 pm Technical Symposium session 20: Sharp and Nanosys will present breakthroughs in blue electroluminescent quantum dot lifetime in an invited joint paper presentation in session 20.3

Wednesday, 5/15

  • 12:00 pm Awards Luncheon: Super interesting talk from an artist who paints with quantum dots. Olga Alexopoulou is a painter and her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums from Tokyo to New York. She was born in Athens and studied at the Ruskin School of Art at Oxford University. In 2018, she created a new pigment called Quantum Blue with a small team of scientists at Berkeley Lab in California. Now, she is the head of color at Quantum Light, the only company in the world specializing in quantum pigments.
