Nanosys and Dolby show what Quantum Dots can do with stunning HDR demo

Dolby and Nanosys have teamed up to create a display reference design that delivers true-to-life image quality. Designed to demonstrate the full impact of Dolby Vision, this first of it's kind 32” display uses Quantum Dot Enhancement Film (QDEF™) from Nanosys to provide a previously impossible combination of brightness, color and power efficiency.

This new reference design brings all of the amazing detail in Dolby Vision content to life with over 16 F-stops of dynamic range, peak light output of 2,000 nits and DCI-P3 color gamut coverage-- all without drawing significantly more power than a standard TV thanks to an incredibly efficient quantum dot enhanced backlight.
