Our quantum dots are designed to increase the range of colors emitted by standard displays by up to 50%. Once created, the dots are coated onto a barrier film (coating) that we call QDEF, which in turn is added to a display during the manufacturing process. We have been very successful in developing the market for quantum dots in the display industry and we’ve been responsible for many breakthrough technologies. As a result of our continued growth we are developing new products and new markets and now need to bring on-board a Technical Sales professional who will help to develop new markets and work with new and existing clients in meeting their needs for quantum dots and film.
This job would be a very good fit for a Field Applications Engineer with experience in the TV / Display / LCD / materials field who has very good customer relationship skills and who is looking to grow their career into sales and marketing.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This is a technical sales position that involves customer sales, applications engineering, project management, customer support and product marketing. Your primary role will be to;
1) anticipate, identify and close on the technical issues in customer and partner sites
2) manage multiple and complex customer relationships simultaneously
3) gather customer and market intelligence
4) assist in promoting products and developing new business leading to new design wins as well as increased revenue growth.
You will be the technical face to the customer and a bridge between customers and a fully supportive team of technical and business professionals at our company headquarters in Silicon Valley. You will facilitate the communications between customers and headquarters, work with our engineering team to resolve manufacturing related issues for our partners, make recommendations for end customers, and gather customer and market intelligence for our strategic direction in the greater China region.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have a thorough knowledge of display or optical systems and solid understanding in nanotechnology. This role would suit a Field Applications Engineer with the required Display / LCD experience who is looking to expand their career.
Must have a track record of working well with customers, ultimately leading to successful products in the customers marketplace.
Well-organized, strong follow-up abilities, demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in Chinese.
Fluency in English: Basic communication in oral English and fluent in reading and Writing.
Be self-driven, yet a strong team player.
Candidate should have at least an BS or MS in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Optics or related fields.
Prefer previous working experience at a large display company.
Prefer a minimum of 5 years of experience in areas of product management and customer applications support.
Prefer a minimum of 3+ years of experience in display or optical systems.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years of experience, or Master’s level Degree with at least 2 years of experience.
