Vizio's 2019 Quantum Dot TVs Hit Retail
Vizio’s 2019 TV lineup just hit retail and the company is going all-in on Quantum Dot technology. The company released ten new models featuring Quantum Dots spanning a huge range of sizes and price points from $399 for a 43” M-Series all the way up to $3,500 a 75” super premium P-Series Quantum X.
In addition to Quantum Dots, the new sets all feature FALD backlighting for deep contrast.
Consumers can find the latest Vizio Quantum Dot TVs at retailers starting this week. In the meantime, we’ve pulled together a quick review of the early reviews from our favorite tech sites.
"All include quantum dots for improved HDR color, which was a big weakness of earlier Vizios… On paper it looks like another worthy challenger to the Samsung Q9 and the other best LED LCDs of the world, if not OLED itself."
"Without getting too into the weeds, quantum dots help TVs produce sharp, vibrant, and cinematic colors—the best and brightest you can get with LED-backlit LCD displays. At the moment, the only thing better is an OLED TV… If you want a display that's up there with the best, this may be the most affordable amazing TV you can buy."
"With 384 or 480 local dimming zones, the Quantum X can approach OLEDs in terms of black level, but it can get significant brighter with a peak brightness of 3000 nits in the 65-inch model."
"Vizio stepped up the performance of its 4K Ultra HD TVs, expanding the number of models with wide-color-gamut quantum-dot displays, boosting peak brightness and contrast, and adding a trio of Apple technologies…"
"From a solitary model last year, Vizio is bringing its quantum-dot technology to half of its 2019 TVs. We got an early peek at the new flagship of the Vizio SmartCast family, the Vizio P-Series Quantum X, and we were blown away by how far the company has come."
