Representative Lofgren sees the future at Nanosys, Inc.

Palo Alto, Calif., November 23, 2009 – Nanosys, Inc. today announced that it hosted US Representative Zoe Lofgren of the 16th California Congressional district, San Jose , for a tour of its nanotechnology plant. Nanosys is poised to make an economic impact on Silicon Valley by expanding its manufacturing and R and D. Representative Lofgren focused her attention on Nanosys projects leading to energy independence and more jobs in the region. On display for Rep Lofgren were products the company is gearing up to launch in several major categories. Rep. Nanosys Reaches Settlement of Patent Infringement Lawsuite Against Nanoco Technologies for Quantum Dot Technology

Palo Alto, CA. July 23, 2009 – Nanosys, Inc. today announced it has agreed to settlement terms of a patent infringement lawsuit against Nanoco Technologies Ltd. The lawsuit claimed that the United Kingdom firm’s quantum dot technology infringes upon five seminal quantum dot patents held by Nanosys. In the settlement, Nanoco agreed to terminate its current U.S. business for its core-shell quantum dots. Those quantum dots were sold in the US by its U.S. distributor, Sigma-Aldrich under the name Lumidots. In the settlement, Nanoco did not admit that the asserted patents are either infringed or valid.

QD Soleil™ Announces Allowance of Claims for Nano-enabled Solar Concentrators

Palo Alto, CA. June 23, 2009 – QD Soleil™, a division of Nanosys, Inc., announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has allowed the company patent claims based on the use of nanostructures for solar concentrators. Solar concentrators magnify the sun’s rays on a small area of highly efficient solar cells. Such concentrators can dramatically reduce the cost of solar energy systems because the active solar cells can be made much smaller and thinner.

Nanosys, Inc. has filed a patent infringement suit against Nanoco Technologies Ltd.

Palo Alto, CA (April 28, 2009) – Nanosys, Inc. has filed a patent infringement suit against Nanoco Technologies Ltd. claiming that the United Kingdom firm’s quantum dot technology infringes five patents held by Nanosys. The suit alleges that Nanoco’s quantum dot materials, which are being distributed in the United States by Sigma Aldrich under the brand name Lumidots, infringes its patents.
